About

Meet Maisel

Maisel was found along the side of the road on a particularly sunny Tuesday afternoon. At first, she was covered in fleas, skin lesions, and had a pretty severe skin infection. Maisel was missing large patches of hair all over her body, and her tail looked like it belonged to a rat. Luckily, her skin conditions have been clearing up nicely since her first trip to the vet. Unfortunately, during that same trip to the vet, it was discovered that Maisel has some mammary masses, each one with a 50% chance of being malignant- essentially, she has canine breast cancer.

Luckily, it looks like her masses can be removed, and if they are cancerous, it hasn't spread. After the removal, she will be able to live a mostly normal life with occasional check-ups to ensure that masses aren't coming back or showing in other parts of her body.

Mammary mass removal surgery isn't cheap, which is why we've decided to launch Maisel's Second Act, a fundraiser to help raise money for her life-saving surgery!
